Place
I was born in India and I consider it home. Most of my relatives live there and to see them is a joy. It's not very often that I go back, so I always look forward to when I can go back.
I studied elementary school in Singapore. It's an incredibly diverse place. I would say that's where I learned to understand and respect the cultural differences between people.
Most of my life since then has been in the United States. I live in the quiet city of Bentonville, Arkansas. Here, I learned how to adapt to different environments. It showed me the different kind of people you can meet.
Time
As a child, I was fascinated by firefighters and policemen. I wanted to be just like them and help as many people as I can and make a name for myself. If anyone ever asked me what I wanted to become, my go-to answers were firefighter and policemen. In middle school and junior high, I discovered a love for music. I started playing on the trombone and eventually ended up playing the tuba. I wasn't the best at it but it was a passion.
As time went on and I got older, I still wanted to help people but I wanted to help my family too. So, I decided to become a doctor. I would make plenty of money to support my family but I would still be saving lives. In high school, I realized that the path to becoming a doctor was long and expensive. And around that time, I also found out that I would be paying international tuition because I'm on a visa. This would significantly affect the cost of the journey.
So I sat down and began to think hard. What career field would combine what I liked: music, challenges, and helping people. Well, it turns out the answer was the gaming industry. I could add sound to the games I make and coding the games are quite a challenge. And if the game brings joy to someone, then I'd have helped them relax for that tiny moment they were absorbed in my game. So, I let my passions determine my future
